What is Roleplay

In OneState, you take on a new identity and build relationships with other players. Roleplaying is a team activity: only by playing ball with others can you truly be part of a living, breathing city.

Roleplay Code

To roleplay and have fun in OneState, everyone agrees to some common ground rules. Let’s break them down.

Keep It Real

Keep It Real

Crash your car? React like you would in real life. Pull a gun in public? Be ready for cops to make an appearance. Random violence is not welcome in One State. Every action must be justified and come naturally from your character's persona.

OneState citizens are human. Fight hard whether you succeed or fail, but it's okay if things don't go your way – tomorrow's another day. The best roleplaying feels like group improv. Sometimes by letting other players take the lead, you can create more memorable stories – and surprises – than on your own.

Respect The Risk

Respect The Risk

OneState citizens are not invincible – they may get wounded, or end up in the hospital. Rather than charge into a shootout like an action movie star, it's natural to show fear, caution, or employ professional tactics. Pick what's right for your character, and stick to it.

Build the World Together

Build the World Together

Strong atmosphere comes from small details. You shouldn't name your characters after memes or use real-life info to gain an edge in any conflict. Use /me, /do, and /try chat commands to add nuance to your roleplaying. Keep sensitive topics private, and bring them up only with clear consent from other players.
